I would say that’s probably not the only difference. Purdy is badly average, if he or Jimmy G before him were more than that SF and Shanahan would have at least one title already.

Lamar the same category as Purdy for me outcome wise.

But what’s their offense like? The Chiefs are more or less winning with their defense now anyway. Mahomes is good enough under pressure to seal the deal, which only he can consistently.

Nah, the only team I’ve ever seen go 16-0 had a revolutionary, best of all time level offense and a top 5 defense paired with it.

The other teams I’ve seen get closest also had top tier offenses.

Don’t get me wrong the Chiefs are winning 13+ games and probably the one seed. 17-0 is a different thing.

It’s as much to do with the schedule which looks very soft to me. The hard games of the Ravens, Bengals and 49ers are now out of the way.

They lost to some crap teams last year and the offense was way better.

No team has ever pulled games out of their ass forever. They’ll probably play better and that’ll help but they do need to play better.
