That sounds like something Halewood says when he takes a shot at me for being an American football supporter.
Football or soccer?
don't believe me, well a good way to check is to look at point spreads that seem like they'd produce an uneven distribution
if the spread on a game is set up so that more people bet on one game then another, the bookies will lose money if the team that more people bet on wins (this is all aside from odds betting, its spreads only).
next week tennessee is favored by 3 points at home, they beat baltimore during their regular season meeting, and they went 7-1 at home this season, compared to baltimore's 5-3 road record. sure many other factors are at play here, but bookies know that the casual better doesn't look all that in depth. now, given all of this, since tenessee only have to cover 3, it seems to be a rather attractive bet, probably one that will cause more people to bet on them.
because of this, the only way bookies with uneven spreads will make money is if baltimore wins.
i'm convinced referees can find fouls on just about every play, if you scrutinize every play you're bound to find an instance of holding or illegal contact, its all about when they choose to call it.
so lets take a look this weekend, i feel pretty safe in saying that baltimore will win outright.
