NHL

I'm looking at some Youtube videos of the Rangers and Islanders rivalry in New York.

I guess it would be fair to say, that the New York Rangers are the kopites of the Big Apple. They have one million Facebook likes, compared to the Islanders three hundred and six thousand Facebook likes.

It would be nice to see these two clash in the playoffs again. With the late and great Mike Bossy being from Montreal, i think i have to side with the Islanders here.

Beyond ready for training camp to begin, and the new season to start in general.

The standings this year should be less top heavy with the hard cap screwing pretty much every contending team, which will make it more enjoyable to watch down the stretch of the season.

The 8 playoff teams in the East being decided by Christmas was beyond boring, and I’m excited to watch young teams like Ottawa, New Jersey, and Detroit push for a playoff spot this year.

The West will also be a battle to get into the playoffs, as I think Vancouver, Vegas, and Winnipeg will push the 8 teams who made it last season.
Colorado are obviously still the favorites, but I’m curious at how dominant they’ll be after losing Kadri, Burakovsky, and Kuemper this offseason. Do the second tier of western teams like the Blues/Flames/Oilers/Wild close the massive gap between them and the Avs? We’ll see.

Also, as a Blues fan doing some lurking in the thread, I’m excited for some banter with @KaiserEFC when our teams match up this year lol.

Ready for the season. New coach, added a good winger (Marchment) and righty defenseman (Lundkvist), extended Robertson and Otter, and at least one of the kids (maybe 3) will be on the NHL roster and they have some talented kids.

Lifelong Islanders fan here.
Rangers are 100% Kopites

The real problem is the cap has stayed basically flat for 3 straight years. It screwed up all the budgeting that the contending teams set up to keep contending. I'm glad the Lightning got their two Cups in before this all happened. After losing money players like Coleman and Palat, I don't think they have still another deep run in them this time around.

Thankfully next year will be the last season with the flat cap. Sucks at the timing of it being a Blues fan though. Could really use that expected $4 mil bump to bring back all of O’Reilly, Tarasenko, and Barbashev, instead of just two of them.

Finding this on page 6 I had a feeling The Canadiens are treasure as per, and The Bruins must be the best team in the league currently….. @Cork Evertonian

Though tbf at least it seems the habs seem to have a bit more of a bite this year.
Stanley Cups aren't won in November! I'm happy enough with what i've seen of the Habs so far. There's been some bad results alright, but there's been a few good ones as well.
