Has looked pretty useful, albeit in pre-season football against very poor opposition.

Can't really judge at all until we've seen him play PL football, but the signs are good.
Shame we are playing crap opposition in pre season so we have no idea if he can be back up to Digne. Was hardly tested defensively

Looked solid enough in the PNE game. Would be interesting to see how he does against better opposition; but no doubt Digné would be injured for that to happen, so no thanks.

It's easy to become overly enthusiastic / complimentary. However , in what we have seen so far , this lad looks really , really promising.

Of course mate, as a fan base people can overboard, it’s good to see the lad has settled in quickly and looks promising. Obviously the real test will be in the league.

So was he a Brands signing or an Ancelotti signing?

He’s the second really good youngster to join in six months. Identified by Brands and convinced to join because of Ancelotti.

A Brands signing. Scouted and assessed by the network he runs and the deal was done by him. Very useful if you have someone like Ancelotti to pick up the phone and put the cherry on top but he's a Brands signing.

In short, a team effort really.
Identifying upcoming talent is the starting point and is apparently where Brands excels.
Having Ancelotti as manager makes it much easier to convince them to come.

...they are all Brands signings.

Yeah, I don't really get this thing of some are brands signings and some are the managers signings.

Brands is DOF therefore he is whatever manage we have in charge, he's their boss and as such he has final say in any transfer. People say richarlison was a Silva signing and while he may of brought richarlison to the attention of brands as a signing for everton it was brands that signed him.

You just know that the people claiming richarlison was a Silva signing or James and Allan are a anchelotti signing. Will be the same people using those players as a stick to beat brands with if any of them flop(obviously I'm using the richarlison example in a past tense as he obviously hasn't flopped).

...nor me. There are some who categorise signings to fit their agenda, but it really is the DoFs responsibility.

There’s absolutely no doubt players will chose Everton because of Ancelotti but Brands would be brainless not to tap into his expertise and exploit his reputation.

Ancelotti will propose specific players he wants and help make deals happen but Brands has the power of veto and appears to be supporting the manager. He’s in the last 12 months of his contract and it will tell us lots about his worth if he’s here this time next year.
