Is it a ridiculous idea to try and convert him to a winger seeing that we have Digne for hopefully a few more seasons and some youth potential at that position?

Moyesie? Is that you?
in all seriousness, it’s not a bad shout. He has pace and skill and can cross. He’s more effective than Bernard in my opinion. But will he oust Richly? Doubt it, so he’ll be a backup winger instead of a backup full back. I really like what I’ve seen of him so far.

It isn't. The thing for me though is that he looks like he'd be an old fashioned type winger. Get past his man and cross type of stuff. In the modern game those players play fullback.

There is a player there. He needs minutes, I think he could build his profile greatly in the championship or league 1.

....just don’t get why we would want to send a really promising youngster out on loan. Posters think going on loan is ‘la, la land’, where youngsters go and get regular game time, impress and comeback to star in the PL.

Out on loan actually means out of Ancelotti’s control. Managers are under immense pressure to get points, a youngsters development is secondary. History suggests very few players sent out on loan go on to have a successful career at Everton.

Nkounkou wasn’t a first teamer before he arrived here and he’s already getting game time in cup competitions. He’s new to this country and training under the guidance of Ancelotti and alongside seasoned internationals.

I just don’t understand why we don’t use him much from the bench. If you’re looking for directness, pace and someone who’s gonna put a decent ball into the box when you’re struggling to make things happen he’s not a bad option.

Bernard is hit and miss and another one who fannies about with 5000 touches instead of just getting the thing into the box.

Shame the way we fizzled out after the first goal, if we’d been 3-0 up he’d likely come on at 60 mins for Digne, as it was Carlo made the right decisions to win the game. Undoubtedly a kid of pace and much promise , and we have time to develop him properly . If he’d wanted a loan then that’s what Marseille were proposing, he came to benefit from being coached with the first team by a world class manager . Plus he and his family couldn’t speak English when he arrived , suggestions he should be out on loan to somewhere where he won’t know anybody in the middle of a pandemic lockdown clearly haven‘t been thought through.

Was just going to suggest this, and I'm not normally one for suggesting full backs play on the wing, but it helped Coleman to get used to standard and gain a bit of experience early on. Might work too for Nkounkou... but there is a lot of competition on the left wing. A loan might be the best option, he's clearly too good for the U23s.
