It’s true, the same is true on the right hand side but people in the Kenny thread seem to think it’s Kenny’s fault he didn’t get the ball, beat two men, put it on a plate for DCL.

A shambolic experiment from carlo that left both fullbacks easily marked, completely isolated, no movement around them, no opportunity for combination play. Two young full backs doing their best with chaos going on around them.

Yeah. They were left for dead today. I don’t think Kenny is quick enough, but he was in the same dire situation.

Delph and Gomes didnt help him at all.

Should have played behind Gordon instead we went for Delph and Gomes in midfield...poor management.

You’re right, which makes Carlo’s tactics even worse in Kenny’s case. Kenny will give and go, he’ll never knock it past someone and burn them for pace. Anyway, a failed experiment, that we’ll hopefully never see again.

I thought he did ok. I just think he needed someone in front of him who was going to drag players inside so he could get into better crossing positions. I think if Richarlison had been on front of him we would have seen him have more of an influence.

Trouble is .. he looked very impressive in the early rounds of the league cup but this was against lower division players. He will come good but perhaps it’s no bad thing the clamour to play him is muted for now

First pro game in the PL, just turned 20, up against one of the most unpredictable players in the league (Saint-Maximin) and did fine defensively. Few bursts past the full-back showed what's to come and would have done much more with Richy in front.

My lad made a good point, he was saying that what Kenny was trying to do in the game were all the right things too do, the problem was he wasn't quick enough or good enough to do them.

I thought Niels Nkounkou did fine today, it was just unfortunate that our whole team played like they were terrified to try and quickly move the ball forward and penetrate the Newcastle defence.

yeah basically. Thought he did ok. Nothing bad and nothing stand out.

He made good runs past people into space only problem was noone was passing him the ball..

He was actually the only one who tried to dribble past someone once or twice but sadly got tackled. Team selection was weird which didn't help him I don't think

I like him a lot, cant judge him with any negativity yesterday trying his best in a terrible Everton side

Deffo more to come from this lad, on the slow burner like DCL will come good though I hope sooner rather than later.
