I still stand by my thoughts that this is the type of young player in the same vein as the likes of modric rakitic nedved.

A lot of fans of this club are so quick to write off young players not being good enough at the start of their careers as shown by the likes of Davies now. Personally think he has the potential to go on and match his countrymen in the future and I hope this sort of loan is simply to give him game time to develop rather than not being good enough .

We had a shocking season last year by all accounts. It would be nice if the young players stopped being the brunt of the blame between the fans when they were all in a no win situation

Hopefully if he’s decent he will be back but having said that...he’s from the Koeman and Walsh era and I would trust Brands and Silva if they don’t rate him

Bit early to write the lad off, he needs game time, thats why hes been loaned out, currently theres a load of players ahead of him.

If im totally harsh ive personally seen nothing to suggest he has a future here, but as I say every early days.

Loving the work brands is doing no time to wait for players to develop you either have it or you don’t and I quite liked Vlasic but in my opinion he’s never gonna be a world beater
Still to young to judge that IMO. He wasn't getting in the Croation (world cup finalists may I remind you) squad last year at the age of 19 if he wasn't showing great signs of promise, and if we hadn't been such a disjointed club last year who knows what might have happened.

For me, this is a case of us having too many young players to integrate into the team at the same time. We already have DCL, Lookman and Dowell as offensive minded players and even that's probably too much.

I think Vlasic has also a confidence issue at the moment, and Silva had a look at him in pre-season and decided that, at the moment, he's behind the other 3. So he's gone on loan in the hope that game time at a decent level will help him get his mojo back. I'm not aware that there is any buy option involved in the deal so I expect to see him back next summer.

Here's hoping he has a good season and gives Marco a headache when he returns. Same with Onyekuru.

This kid has done utterly nothing to be compared to Luca Modric. Arguably the best central midfield player of his generation.

No offence, but I think your comparison is mental.

This is the point.

Was modric world class at 19? Or rakitic? Or nedved?

The answer is no. Because they were young inexperienced and had their whole career ahead of them. It seems people forget sometimes (generally, not aimed at you) that kids at 19 have over a decade in the game to learn and improve before they decline. That's why I don't get kids that hardly get a chance being written off so quickly . If you see them play loads and form an opinion then fair enough, but it's this theory that young players under sacked managers and poor football must be terrible and let go of.

Modric is an insanely good footballer who was exceptional in this country for Spurs. I've not seen Vlasic impose himself on 1 premier league match. He looked like a boy playing adult football. I'm not saying he's a bad player but the modric shout is way way over the top.

He was like 23 when he moved to Spurs and didn’t pull up trees for quite some time there.

He’s a young lad and needs game time, which he won’t get here at the moment. It’s the best for all parties.....
Think it's really that simple. That being said, he looked like he was a step slow when he got in there. Maybe out of shape.

You’ve sort of argued against your own point there.

Vlasic has shown absolutely nothing to indicate he’ll be anything like Modric or Rakitic. The fact that Modric at the same age wasn’t world class doesn’t prove anything.

Any sensible bet would be that Vlasic will not make it at the highest level.
