There is a player in there somewhere. Pity we couldn't find it.
I talked at the beginning of the (preseason) training with Everton coach Marco Silva, who openly told me he could not promise me a place among the first eleven.
Since I’d practically lost last season, I didn’t want to repeat something like that and Everton gave me permission to find the club where I would play
Poor guy should have gone on loan last winter. Allardyce murdered his confidence.
Think that's just untrue. He looked, comfortably, like the best outfield player we signed under Koeman. Then he got sacked, Unsworth had a weird fetish for ONLY his players, then FSA came in and that's that. Maybe he wasn't a world beater under Koeman but he certainly wasn't crap.We need to stop blaming everything on Allardyce!
He was crap before Allardyce was here.
Deffo has potential but lets not pretend he was pulling up any trees before big mean Mr Allardyce came in and ruined him.
Same with Lookman.

As much as I don't really rate Sigurdsson he was far better than Vlasic last year.Think that's just untrue. He looked, comfortably, like the best outfield player we signed under Koeman. Yeh agree here @Papa Shango - Vlasic didn't set the world alight, no, but in that September - October period he at least showed some drive and determination and flare.
Anyway, I don't think he is good enough right now although hopefully he proves us wrong this season and offers another option for us next year.
I've seen nothing from Vlasic to suggest he is close to good enough. A baffling signing clearly done on a whim for a position we already were overcrowded in.
