'99-'02 was all about E's and K, dancing my aching jaws off without sleep Friday-to-Sunday...mostly Brixton, but also warehouse parties all over the hop. Ibiza in 2002 was the Final, took me 3 days to score acid, then took the lot in a dizzy cocktail of bursting thermometer tubes, leaving a Care-Bear-esque Hed Kandi party to seek out brutalist techno at Space...ending up hysterically delirously euphoric on the beach with visions of how gorgeous everything and everyone is. Fun times.

After that era ended up playing at squat parties myself but only took the wine and the odd spliff. Moved to Berlin a few years after that and quickly got bored of the too-polite techno and crap stimulants.

...still have an annual LSD journey: the tradition is while peaking play a few hours of cosmic synth musik, then the next day I'll chop out the best bits and upload it as an album.

more to do still...want to meet the machine elves at some point...

I went to a small town in Mexico where their whole culture is based on mushrooms. THe woman in the hotel brews the tea for you. You have a temezcal to purify your body then we walked into the countryside. Sat on this wooden platform that looked down this huge valley for hours watching the patterns of the clouds shifting. Incredible experience. £2.50 a night for the lodge too.

All I need for a good time is a bag of werthers and a willing group of equally clean living compadres for a nice game of Monopoly.

Also, Cut and Paste

Feel a bit sorry for the kids these days, the bashed up crud that gets passed off for Beak, Echos and Magic, Trading standards would have an absolute field day, and that jarg 'Polly' the Lids all have is like smoking car tyres, it's piss poor and not even Pollen but of course to them everything is 'Belter lad' and they think they know it all so let them carry on regardless. Myself I'm a Connoisseur of course but I only go near the good stuff occasionally these days..... honest.

The club crowd has changed a lot too, it's not as good as it was. Not here in Nottingham anyhow, it's not big enough. Reckon it's still good in Manchester and London.

it really has changed...globally. The drugs are less psychedelic, more stimulant/depressive...so the music has also become less psychedelic/experimental/energetic and more minimal/overproduced/'cool', so the vibe is less wild/hedonistic/glorious and more polite/slow/hipstery.

a lot of / in there but hope you get what i mean

I used to enjoy magic mushroom trips with friends years ago
the peak of a mushroom trip the colours the intense interest in the most mundane things the insane laughter
it is a communal activity not to be experienced alone and too much of it will fry your mind
