That's the thing that makes it so much more frustrating though esk, lacking consistency from game to game is bad enough but constantly lacking it during the same game like we have so many times already this season is beyond a joke.

Simple answer though is you can't successfully kill a game off when as a team you can't defend crosses or set pieces any better than a schoolboy team. Set pieces full stop need so much work it's untrue, comments about not regarding them from Martinez, leaks about not practising them, Bark;ley taking free kicks whilst having stated he never practises them in training etc, the penalty fiasco from last season, all in all the set pieces for us is a mess right across the board and that has to be laid at the feet of Martinez and honestly the players too as they should bloody well demand that they focus a bot on them in training as it is costing us what seems like every game

Mate I agree totally there are flaws and inconsistencies all over the place, including the Board room.

But we are producing spells of football as good as anything, if not better than I have seen in 42 years of going to matches.

THe hope is that this young team holds together long enough to see reward for this talent. Maybe this year with a cup, and next year genuine contenders in the league. The potential is there despite the obvious pitfalls which may be in front of us.

Frustrating and thrilling in equal measures currently

It's so frustrating in many ways because at times it is so thrilling if that makes sense.

All i know is that the huge increase in SKY money has at least given us a chance that we otherwise wouldn't have had to keep the team together for maybe one more season after this, hate to say it as it sounds like the rs missing piece of the jigsaw crap, but we need that couple of players that come into the squad and just make us push on to another level, much like happened in the 80's with a similarly very young team not used to winning things

Some superb footie from us today, but when oh when are Everton going to learn how to kill a game off and also learn that if we absolutely destroy an opposition team, it's their problem ???
Six points dropped in just the last three games would have had us in the top four and EVERYONE else fearing playing us - we're too dammed soft at times.

At times we can play football as good as anybody in this league. The problem is that our key players are still learning their trade and still a bit wet behind the ears. And with any young player consistency is a problem. If we can just hold on to these players untill they are more street wise and able to offer consistency to their undoubted talents, we will have some team on our hands. What Roberto and the team are aiming towards is there for all to see. Unfortunately frustrating days like palace and today are just part of the learning curve. As they say Rome wasn't built in a day

Biggest regret about today will be the 45 minute master class from tom cleverly, will go un noticed. Really enjoyed his passing, work rate, and movement, highlight of the day for me.

I think what is frustrating is that everyone can see the quality in the team, yet we're letting games like this just slip by. We had a real chance for top four this season and every consecutive game against weaker opposition, we mess up and drift further behind.

I also think that it's the manner in which these results occur. We've dominated the last three games and somehow not left with the three points. It's difficult to understand why and it makes you think, 'if we're playing this well and not winning what else can we do?'

We might have a good young team, but it worries me that if we don't get something from this season, that team will break apart. It's all well and good saying to Lukaku "look at what we've got here, give us a couple more years" but with how much he's improved, and that shyster agent of his, can we honestly expect him to stay long enough for us to get everything together?

I was sitting in the Norwich main stand, sat next to someone who said he's missed perhaps a dozen games in 30 years at Carrow Road, really knew his football. He said the last 30 minutes of the first half was the best prior of attacking play he can remember.

We are so close. Just need to kill off games when on top.

Agreed here. Not believing in practicing attacking ones is one thing. But you have to at least practice defending them.

Its all so frustrating isn't it. Some great play in the first half. Having seen all this before I just knew it would bite us! Should've been at least 3-0 up which would've rendered their goal as a consolation. The pundits saying it was a game of two halfs. Not for me, as we battered them in the first half. The second half was average from us, and an improvement from them. Savage is not my favourite but he's right in that we aren't clinical enough. And we need to be, because we're always likely to ship a goal.

....I think the players realise they are good and I think the team realises they are good. For me we are too purist and too cocky. We need to be professional and clinical, the debate is how to make that happen.

This young team won't hold together unless it starts winning matches THIS SEASON - Lukaku, Stones, Gerri, they're too good to be playing for a mid-table team and we won't win a cup if we can't win matches. Maybe we'll go on a run over xmas and things will look different, but 3 wins from 10 league games is not good enough.

im getting sick and tired of all these games we should have won and are not. I'm seriously thinking of keeping away from football for a while, cause it's making me more miserable than happy.
