Not had an AC/DC thread for a while.

I bought Blow Up Your Video LP when it came out in 88, but I was never that into them, but Heatseeker is a good track.
I think what put me off was a fella who lived close by, superfan, always wore AC/DC shirt, with an insane OTT mullet and one of them awful leather jackets with tassels along the arms.
Saying that I've kind of got a bit of respect for him now as 30 years later I still see him about, lost his hair but he still wears old vintage AC/DC shirts haha stayed true to who he is, fair play.

Everybody has to go to see AC/DC at least once in their life, and not to be morbid but I'd say sooner rather than later.

No band has ever lost a lead singer like they have and just replaced him without really skipping a beat, and Back in Black wasn't a bad way to silence the critics.

Good point, though Iron Maiden went on to much greater success once Paul Di'anno was replaced by Bruce Dickinson.

Also Black Sabbath were much better with Dio on vocals imho (I've never been a fan of Ozzy's warbling). Deep Purple and Rainbow have also chopped and changed their respective front man on numerous occasions. But in terms of commercial success I reckon Maiden and AC/DC are the best examples.

I really love hard rock music, and AC/DC are obviously an iconic and successful band, but I've always thought of them as a heavier version of Status Quo. Pretty much all their songs sound the same to me. There's little variation in tempo, melody or even the musical key, especially the records with Brian Johnston on vocals.

That's not to to say I actively dislike them, they're great to listen to while running for example, but I personally prefer the likes of Zeppelin and Sabbath.
