stark lesson learned tonight.

cant expect to turn up against established and experienced opposition and try to coast through.

not enough of our players turned up tonight with anything like their best game on show.

welcome to european competition.

Its like the end of childhood. Now we're messing with the big boys with pubes.

We were [Poor language removed] though.

Papers and fans can spin how they want but whats clear is that we were given a soccer bumming and we're lucky to be going into the second leg with any chance at all.

Whether its down to us shitting ourselves, generally having a [Poor language removed] day or Fiorentina being ace - we will find out next week.

i dont like mentioning it because of the stigmatism thrown around on here, but does anyone else consider the referee tonight to be a bit of a ''homer''?

I watched the game with three mates, all blues and they were incredibly negative. I know it wasnt much fun, but for me, at the end of the day we just had a bit of a [Poor language removed] game. No one played well, no one looked anything like they have recently but i dont think this is the end of our cup run.

That could have been the best fiorentina have ever played and definately the worst we have played for ages, so maybe next week it wil be the other way round.

I defo dont think we will let tonite ruin what we have got going this season. Heads up like

Positive energy and all that [Poor language removed]

good post suits, that's a good way of looking at it.

i myself kind of thought we needed a humbly experience just to keep ourselves grounded... i just didn't want it to be that humbling (no away goals FFS)

sunday will be a good indicator of how this will effect the rest of the season, it'll be interesting to see how moyes responds, if he grinds them into the ground at training or just kind of lets them reflect, i'm sure they all know they played like [Poor language removed], and if they were swept up in the glory of their last few wins, i'm sure being knocked out of a champions league spot and coming close to getting eliminated from the UEFA cup in a matter of 2 days is quite sobering.

lets get some goals against sunderland to build up that confidence again, with miky back to close to full fitness, i think we may just have the kick we need to prevent our team from derailing.

thanks for the props (out to my homies yawl)

im not sure arteta is fit. im not sure he is anywhere near.

thats too kind. you sir are soft.

we were pathetic tonight.

howard and jagielka can hold their heads up high. i saw a shift from them two.

Aye piss poor tonight thats for sure..a case of them believing in thier own publicity perhaps??

But even so lessons can and should be learned from tonight

when was the last time we lost?

Or played crap?

When was the last time we got a soccer bumming?

My standards arent quite so high as to expect we win every week...the lessons will get tougher and I like the reverse fixture as I reckon weve got the fire power to put them away next week.

rant

If Pienaar truly is looking for another place to go like people have been hinting then he can [Poor language removed] do one.

Last night he was sooo [Poor language removed] [Poor language removed] it was unbelievable got bullied by Ujfalusi all night.

That ref was gay.

Not a bit mate, he was a complete "homer" he completely dictate the flow of the game and I have never seen Cahill foul someone so often in a match, that's why we were beaten not by there team we were beaten by the referee, as he is doing everything he could to stop our game, no wonder we were shitting ourselve as we are not allow to do anything to win a ball, off-side given when one player is off-side but the ball wasn't going to that player and it was just the build up of the play, what could we do if the referee and assistant are bloody "homer"?

That's why I think we could still do it if we are allow to play our game and we get a better referee for the game, only two goals behind we still have a chance.
