Tips for the Top!

1) The girls their easy, Village or Soho! if you don't mind that your woman used to be a man... otherwise i wouldn't try too hard in the village

2) If you have a few days spemd a day each doin uptown, midtown and downtown.

3) Uptown you have Harlem, Central Park (Ice Skating), Muesam Row, Blooming Dales, The Dakota Building, Trump Tower Bloomingdales!

4) Midtown:, Brodway, Radio City, Rochafeller Centre, Maddison Square Gardns, Chrysler Building, UN, Empire State, Time Square, Maceys and all that jazz. if you go see time square, make sure its at night (last time i went was at 2 in the morning, its unrreal). If you don't have a lot of time in NYC, i'd stick with midtown for the most part IMO its got the coolest touristy bullshit all around.

5) Downtown: Grenage Village, Ground Zero, Wall St, Centary 21, China Town, Little Italy, Brooklyn Bridge, Battery Park, Get the Ferry Out to Statue of Libery and Ellis Iseland.

i would also recommend eating a burger (or 12) from White Castle, and I don't know if Oakley sunglasses are popular in the UK, but you can get a good pair of fake Oakley's for an absurdly low price, especially with the exchange rate.

When i think of New York, i think of Taxi.....and the dirty side of New York.

There is a cheery thought to take with you on your trip(y)

the list of things to do us unreal, i've been twice, mate been 5 times we goin again in february. it's the best place in the world. even if you don't fall for all that patriotic [Poor language removed] with ground zero wait til you get there, it's so overwhelming. granted ground zero is now all filled in with a subway station so you really can't get the same feel for it.
empire state day and night, $12 each time, well worth it.
get over to yankee stadium before they knock it down, they doin tours for a couple months to make money then it's gone for good, they movin next door.
if you looking for good cheap music cd/lp get to st marks place on the lower east side, full of vintage record stores, tattoo parlours, clothes shops and the best pizza slices in the world.
century 21 opposite the old trade centre site is like tj hughes on crack!!! [Poor language removed] awesome.
anything in times square, especially the ferris wheel in the middle of a 5 storey toys 'r' us.
i know it's a bad stereotype but please don't go to harlem, i'm serious.
madison square garden tour, fantastic. or even go see the new york knicks basketball team or new york rangers ice hockey team.
maceys is very expensive, like harrods/selfridges. unless you wanna splash the cash by all means a treat for any shopper.
no matter what airport you go to when you leave to get a taxi they have stewards who ask where you're goin, they type the route into a little hand held thingy and print out a receipt, this gets given to the driver and a copy for yourself so you don't get ripped off, genius idea.
it's about £50 from all the airports to midtown. if you dont wanna get a taxi the greyhound bus is $23 return and it has several drop off points in manhatten, main ones are times square (46th street) madison square garden (38th street) empire state (34th street) they all run alongside fourth and fifth avenues.
hope i've helped you there mate.
oh and the metro weekly subway card is $7.25 well worth it seein as thoug it's $2 per trip.

Lads, been loads of help. buzzin am gonna finally go, and so close to crimbo is a billy bonus. keep the ideas rollin in tho, as the dirty side of new york in a cab is the type of [Poor language removed] i wanna see!
