Oasis? Best Band ever?

Far from it mate. Beatles? stones? The Who? Pink Floyd? Deep Purple? Led Zeppelin? Stone Roses? New Order? Joy Division?

The list goes on and on with bands and Unique sounds. not a cheap spin off of a modern day beatles. Granted they have talent, just not their own inspiration.

I don't like any of that stuff mate! I like a few Beatles songs to be fair, but Oasis own them all I think :-)

Well, if you don't take into account, hits, records, talent, live ability, uniqueness and longevity then you have a point.

Oasis do not even own their own image. It is a dated Madchester fashion being regenerated to suit their supposed style which diminished years ago.

I appreciate you may like them more, but facts are they are nowhere near the success of the bands I have mentioned. And to be honest, if you do not like the stone roses, how can you like Oasis. they admit they are a mix of the beatles and the stone roses(which in turn were inspired by Joy Divsion). Confusing.

:P:P:P:P:P:P:P

The mark of any band for me is their ability to evolve, to continually think of ways to improve and get better. The Beatles showed a huge change from their early stuff to Revolver onwards. The Stones were the same. Radiohead have made huge strides from Pablo Honey.

Contrast that to Oasis, U2, Coldplay et al that are churning out the same stuff over and over and over. A one trick pony does not a qualify for greatness imo.

good points, well made.

"Piper at the gates of dawn" evolving to become "The wall" is another prime example
