i have to be honest, my first thought was that the op was a piss-take & i was quite a few posts into the thread before i realised it was all being taken seriously. my tastes are eclectic, but oasis barely register, although any band that covers slade can't be all bad.

I thought it was all lollypops and POP music in the motherland today.

Check out these rockers

Acca Dacca
Jet
The Vines
Eskimo Joe
Regurgitator
Silverchair
Spiderbait
Midnight Oil
Nick Cave
Mental As Anything
The Living End
John Butler Trio
Hunters and Collectors
The Fauves
Ed Kuipper
Crowded House
Radio Birdman
You Am I
Paul Kelly

Some quality for between the ears there.

If you took their best songs over the course of their career and put them on one album i reckon you'd have a pretty damn good album.

Then if you took the rest of the boring dreary crappy songs and threw them in the bin you'd have a band who released one amazing album and dissapeared off the face of the earth.

Oasis have been my favourite band for 15 years, i dont think another band will now take over that fact.

Music is all about what you get out of it. Some people like somthing complexed, some people like just sticking the radio on and enjoy whatever it throws at them.

People will ALWAYS have a go at Oasis for never changing, but then so many bands like Blur, Radiohead, Manic Street Preachers, The Verve, Metallica, ect ect get slated for actually changing their sound, so i dont think you can win.

I think when you can generate £66million in 1 day of World ticket sales... they are doing somthing right, and despite a lot of people saying they aint a good live band, then 66 million quid is a lot of down the toilet money.

As a few have already said though, check out The Stone Roses, probably the best band ever to have only 2 albums. Probably one of the worst live bands ive ever seen, but there songs (including b-sides) are just out of this world.

The Verve are another amazing band, lyrically Ashcroft has the ability to bend my head so much. Ive never seen a more passionate musician in just the whole of his work.

Enjoy whatever you listen to ..... i wouldnt dare mention some of the stuff i listen to cause people just slate it, but whatever you like. (y)
