the ground was a crumbling wreck tbh, but the pitch was always immaculate, even when they used to play through the winter it was always fantastic. when you think that the groundsman was probably caretaker, scoreboard operator, tannoy, and pastie seller it was remarkable really.
there's a leigh equivalent of badgeman as well, he's called 'shandy bass'
