Nicknamed the Croxteth Kamikaze by the Echo after that effort.
As a kid all I seem to recall was seeing pictures of big Mick either in the echo or the match programme with blood(blue) pouring from another wound, saw him at a ressies game at Southport a couple of years ago, managed to pluck up the courage to thank him,he smiled shook my hand and thanked me for thanking him:)what a guy!!

A couple of years back I was getting jostled in The Brick trying to get to the bar, the guy at the bar got his drinks and as he did he ushered me into the space. It was Mick good man.

Sheff Wed's semi-final win against Chelsea, as unexpected as ours over Man U, yielded the most lugubrious post-match interview in the history of Match of the Day, courtesy of the scorer of Wednesday's second, Jim McCalliog. Watch and weep with him:

Jim McCalliog now a hotelior - he was recently on channel 4s four in a bed - he was a right miserable sod - he still looked in good nick physique wise - but down marked short changed all his opposition on 4 in a bedlol
