...I think Carlisle are still the only team we’ve played but not beaten in top flight football. Hard to see that situation changing. I was at that match, Balderstone was brilliant for Carlisle that day. He was one of the footballers who played County Cricket in the summer and I think he went on to become a top umpire.

Remember going up to the away game on a service train. Some Bluenose, for an inexplicable reason, decided to jump off the train as it slowed on a bend, in the middle of the Lake District, and was last seen tear a*sing across a field. Strange...but then we did get beaten 3-0 so he probably had a premonition lol

..it was odd us getting beat by them twice yet we had a chance of winning the title and they got relegated. Funny old game.
