Might have been something to do with he miners strike, most people were on a 3 day week to save elecie, remember having candles and paraffin lamps to light the house when the elecie was switched of, not sure the time line fits with 1970.

That could be something to do with the floodlights, it was the 19th December and 1970 was when the main stand was being modernised.It wouldn't be dark for a 4.10 finish and only 10 minutes for half time in those days.
