Strange decision of Harry's to play Wright up front.
The normal option back in the day was to throw Jimmy Gabriel upfront, which would've meant that Sandy moved to right half and the young and relatively inexperienced Tommy Wright being thrown in the Derby deep end resulting in 2 defensive changes down that wing Vs The excellent (on his day) PeterThompson
I think Harry settled for not losing.

Great tactician the Catt young fans forget a lot of Derbys in our day were 0-0s or 1-1s still its was worth going for the atmosphere, as a very young lad My late father got stand tickets at the pit looking over the kop in the corner of one of his workmates - it was a 0-0 - Bally hit the post - a certain John Hurst played at no 10, and was alongside captain Labone - what a game he had because of shift work my late father a trus blue had not seen him his favorite defender ever was TG Jones - he stated to me That no 10 is going to be something special , and he was spot on........
I found those obviously out of A red fans scrapbook -hence the bias for the redside of the city in the reports.......
Charles Lambert of the pink echo was usually our reporter......
nothing changes hey:D

Hadn't realised how close the ball was to Lawson when Little tapped it in! Poor old Dario let the ball run past him so that Lawson could hoof it downfield for one last attack before what would have been the first domestic trophy to be decided by a penalty shoot out.
Didn't he hear a call from Little, thought it was Lawson? It seemed like that happened, and we were just behind the goal. I was only 8 though , so I could have imagined it! Hated Brian Little ever since. ...
