A player and a half was Brace.Paul Bracewell-
Born Stoke. This England international joined Everton in a £250,000 deal in May 1984 having had spells with Stoke City and Sunderland.
What a bargain he was.A player and a half was Brace.
That’s a fantastic photoEnglish League Division One match at Goodison Park. Everton 6 v Stoke City 2. Everton's John Morrisey celebrates after he scored his second goal. 18th October 1969. -
The next day I was probably as a four year old travelling down aintree lane to my grans going "rah, rah, rah, rah Morrissey with my dad whilst my mum would be tutting in the car!!!That’s a fantastic photo
2 Stoke players down. 1 on his back the other face down
And Moggsy with that toothless grin
Oh what days
For two seasons his performance levels were either 8 or 9 out of 10,maybe going out on a limb here but the best central midfielder I personally have seen in a blue shirt, loved reidy but brace had that little bit of guile and style about him I thought. What a bargain he was.
He took the cup winning team to a new level.
Brace and Reidy in centre of midfield. Trev and Sheedy outside them.
Perfect.
Makes you weep to see the dross today
