Talking about Terry Darracott...
Was anyone else at Burnley when Terry made the worst run I’ve ever seen..
We were standing in the open end( the opposite end to the Bob Lord stand which used to blow hot air under your arse in the winter) when Terry received a ball from our keeper on the edge of our box. In those days the dugouts were below pitch level. Terry took off with the ball. Head down charging as fast as his little legs could take him. Unfortunately he got his angles all wrong.
He kept running with the ball but was heading for the dugout. Failing to lift his head and look up both he and the ball ended up on top of our lot sat in the dugout.

..and he ended up coaching youth players. Seemed a really good lad, though. I think it’s surprising that his time at Everton actually spanned the really great team of the early 70s so it’s little wonder he forged a career in coaching.
