Hi just sorted this My EFC bible states saturday game 26th of February 1972 5th round of the FA cup got beat 2-0 v Spurs that's what the picture is.....

Thanks mate could you just check when you have time if there was a match against them shortly after played late afternoon thanks.

Bolton 0 Everton 1 (1-2 agg) in Jan 1977 at Burnden Park. Bob Latchford heads the only goal in the League Cup Semi Final, 2nd Leg - to send the blues to the final -

I'm in that paddock somewhere by the halfway line. My Dad (rest his soul) somehow got tickets in with the Bolton fans. I was in awe of our 'away' following behind that goal where Latchford scored. The 'Embankment' I recall.
I also remember my Dad telling me to keep my mouth shut during the game......and then 5 mins in to the match one of our team (Ronnie Goodlass I think) got scythed down right in front of us!! Mr arl fella came out with a torrent of abuse!! Telling all the Bolton fans to button it etc! I just looked at him and he knowingly smiled back!
Happy memories.

I went to the game, my Mum gave me a note saying I had to go the dentist so I could get the afternoon off at school ! I think it was 2 or 3 pm ko. Because of the power cuts, no floodlit games were allowed.

No time in my bible but we played them on the Wednesday like @Old Blue 2 stated March 1st
Yet a ray of hope you may be correct is the Home attendance is only 21,000 very low in that bog average season suggesting it was a daytime game, it why it would be ?.......on a midweek game was it the powercut days?

Think I recall that the rule in those days was a colour clash in the cup meant that both sides changed to their second strip. A few years earlier we'd played Coventry at home in the cup and we were in white shirts black shorts.
Memory may be playing tricks. But that was a good entertaining game which I watched from the GSE
