Old Everton Pictures

This is supposed to be a cracking goal HC the best he had ever seen -
16th January 1971 Jimmy Husband breasts down a pass from Alan Ball and fires an unstoppable shot into the roof of the Chelsea net for Everton's opener - in a 3-0 win -

Catterick was right. An unbelievable goal after a move involving Hurst, Kendall, Ball and Husband in a move of slick passes that took the ball from the edge of our box into the back of the Chelsea net in less than 10 seconds. Unfortunately not captured on film.

How was this not a pen?

Not only this, but we also had a perfectly good goal chalked off for offside shortly after. Just as well there was no VAR in them days or we'd have never savoured our greatest ever comeback.

Youre dreamin mate, VAR would've probably given S. Wed a penalty against Young for deliberately kicking at Springetts forearms as they wrapped around his ankles.
Ive seen a pic taken a frame earlier and you'd have sworn we were at Twickers not Wembley

3rd October 1970 John Hurst towers above Bill Glazier to head home during a 1-3 defeat away to Coventry. This game was made famous for the "Donkey kick" free kick goal created by Willie Carr and scored by Ernie Hunt, -
