Would Higgins have been captain at this time? If not for injury he would have been captain in our 'Glory Years'.
That’s the thing though if he hadn’t have been injured the glory years may never have happened as the ratcliffe and mountfield partnership for two seasons were virtually impregnable - would a different pair had the same success?! I guess the answer is well never know!

Yes both of these are pertinent; to quote Ronald Koeman: "That's football!"

I think Higgins was definitely better defensively - he almost certainly would have gone on to play for England. But he'd never have scored the goals that Degsy did.
