The club mercer and John Moores did their best and on a very wet night a large crowd attended - only for mercer to be shocked it never scraped the debt the mess Tommy Lawton was in he did time.. a sad state of affairs....his bankruptcy but he did bounce back as a sports journalist.....
Lawton always admitted he divorced the wrong thing his wife should have been first, and stayed with us........
