Bob Latchford at Everton – Latchford didnt play in a successful side, but he still gave the crowd something to smile about. If he had the ball in the 18-yard box, he would usually score. He had a huge leap for a big man and his style was to attack the ball. He did that as well as anyone in the 70s, talkSPORT presenter Tony Cascarino explained. He top scored for the club in six successive seasons and was the leagues leading scorer in the 1977/78 season, winning £10,000 from a newspaper who were offering the prize to the first player to reach 30 goals. He scored in the 1977 League Cup final, but the Toffees lost to Aston Villa. -
