A vintage illustration of the FA Cup Final between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton at Fallowfield Stadium in Manchester on 25th March 1893. The three scenes are titled "A 'Soft' Goal for Wolverhampton", "Chairing the Winners" and "After the Match". Wolverhampton beat Everton 1-0 to lift the trophy for the first time in their history. Due to serious overcrowding which delayed the start of the game and caused serious damage to the Stadium's infrastructure, the Cup Final was never to return to the Manchester venue. The only score in the match was provided by Wolves captain Harry Allen who launched a hopeful lob from distance into the Everton box which was completely misjudged by the Everton keeper Richard Williams who allowed the ball to bounce into the net -

Games just went ahead in those days in the snow. Partially clear the lines and use an orange ball and get on with it.
