Well spotted. I wasn't clever enough to link the two when I posted.....’cricket’ being the appropriate word, Cumbes a very useful first class cricketer and later Chief Executive at Lancashire CCC.

Ian Botham in his later cricket career played Centre Half up North - Scuntthorpe for about 5 years or so.........quite a few footballer/cricketers in those days. Arnie Sidebottam; Chris Balderstone (part of that Carlisle team that cost us a league title) et al.
