With Beattie the stand out player, excellent.Yeah,muhren later went to Man U,they had a great side,burley,mills,beattie,gates,muhren,thiijsen,mariner,wark,brazil etc.
Have to agree with you there Cameron, Kevin Beatie was a top class player and a very quick one. Bobby Robson tells a story about the New Year’s Day Powderhall Sprint, Robson entered Beattie, all the players and Robson bet on him and half way through he looked like winning hands down. At that point, however, his wedding tackle popped out of the leg of his ‘very short’ shorts, which were the fashion back in 1970. Naturally he made efforts to readjust and by the time he was settled he had lost the race and they had all lost their money.With Beattie the stand out player, excellent.
