Great picture of a then majestic and intimidating stadium.
Spent plenty of time in the mid-60s stood outside here waiting for autographs. The changing rooms windows in this snap opened out on to Goodison Rd and the players on days when they were training at the ground would sign autographs leaning out the windows. They would also lean out the windows and ask us urchins to get them ciggies from the shop opposite.

Yes obviously but i just cast a glance over the park and cant help but think we have signed many more duffers than them

Not sure about that. Houlier for instance was notorious for signing second and third rate foreign players throughout his time at Anfield.
