From what was going around at the time, Catterick had nothing to do with it. Moores told him he would not bale him out of his gambling debts again. Ball ignored the warning, and the next time he ran them up, he was moved on. That's what the word on the streets was re his being moved on to Arsenal.

I heard that, but many speculations were going around at the time ...... Reading Roy Vernon Blue Dragon he betted that heavy with all his clubs on the Dogs Gee gees etc it was nothing for him to lose a top class car left with the bookie at the track......
 
For anyone interested, the official film of the 66 world cup is on Amazon prime. It has some brilliant quality footage of the old lady in her prime. In colour too.
I remember my late father taking me to see the colour version of the 66 world cup final at the Cinema when I was a kid - it was fantastic - same score though {Joke} it really was a treat big screen colour than an old hired B&W small screen tele.....
