This is the FA Cup 3rd round tie in 71/72. Their manager, Bert Head, described the first game as the roughest he'd ever been involved in, and the replay was just as hard fought. Proper cup ties!

You could see the fellas quality from the moment he joined, a very, very good player, unfortunately it was an expensive gamble at the time with his knees and it never really paid off for us.A real shame Whiteside had such a torrid time with injuries . I remember him play against Forest . He was great in that match .

By the time he'd joined us though he was basically unable to turn for fear of doing his cartilages, ligaments etc, so invariably he'd only ever play the ball in the direction he was facing. Played well for us nevertheless.A real shame Whiteside had such a torrid time with injuries . I remember him play against Forest . He was great in that match .

Don't know what happened to it.This is the FA Cup 3rd round tie in 71/72.
