I don't recall it being exceptionally rough. I remember we were in the open terrace behind the goal. Thousands as usual. I unfurled a new banner I'd made. Don't know what happened to it.

6 bookings and 1 sent off in the first game, our only bookings being forwards - Royle and Whittle. None in the replay which we won 3-2. I seem to remember Peter Scott putting us ahead in the first minute with a low drive off the far post - he scored a similar goal a few weeks earlier against Huddersfield, which was the first game after the Catt's biggest mistake.
