A player who didn’t want to leave and a manager’s health that was failing. Such a sad parting of ways.Alan Ball on his last day of training as a Blues player at Bellefield. Where does Bally rank as an Everton legend -at the top imo -

A team effort......2500 pages for this wonderful thread
Congratulations to all contributors and especially @Joey66
Can't argue with a word.My late dad said best was the best player he ever saw play at Goodison. Naturally he said Alan Ball was the best Everton player he saw grace the turf. Both truly world class players he said at their peak, would walk into any club or national team in the world.
Just as Kendall more or less singlehandedly kept us out of the relegation places, Best did the same for Untd. once he spewed it down they went.Best was playing in an ageing team too, what a player the game I seen Everton were on the rise as I stated four players across to him if the ball went anywhere near him it ended up 0-0 at Goodison....
As an older member of your following, I appreciate your pages more. I was never one to hang onto admission stubs, photographs write-ups etc. as I always thought my memory would be good enough, well it hasn't been! I have spent many an hour perusing your old stuff Joey, sometimes chuckling, someA team effort......
