21 games in 4 years. Legend.

I remember him showed so much promise maybe reading this article with a double leg break you might be a bit harsh on him.....

The first merseyside Derby in the 1960's onwards when the other lot were stranded in Division 2 for years before they came back up- here Rowdy Yeats , and Royston Vernon lead the teams out - it was 2-2 we had a perfectly goal ruled out , and they scored in the last few minutes to equalise - we went on to win the league......even then that hoodoo sign was there.....

This was my first time watching the Blues away in Europe (unless I am allowed to count Old Trafford in the Inter Cities Fairs Cup) I remember the open terraces in the rain
I listened to this game on the radio. Didn't Kendall score our goal when their keeper was picking up a bog roll in his 6 yard box?

Reading his autobiography Royston Vernon which I helped to donate to print - what a read it really was seeing him only as a six year old - they joke about his cigarette smoking from the age of 11 years old which they stated he could have become a world class player in the Dennis Law mold - his pace over a short distance was incredible - imagine if maybe without the smoking his energy levels could have been much higher?
What a world class player he may have become as it was he was an Everton great sometimes overshadoed by the GV but no doubts he was a rebel ...

I used to buy ciggies for him at the time when training was still at GP. He would put his head out of the changing room window and give the money to anyone of the dozens or so lads who'd be out there waiting to get autographs.
