Can't remember playing them in the inter city fairs cup which I believe was the forerunner of the UEFA cup. Remember Fitzpatrick. But think loads of teams had a tough right back. Smith RS, us sandy brown, chelsea chopper Harris, leeds reaney think they would have been sent off every game nowadays.We missed Europe a few times in the 60s and 70s due to UEFA only allowing one team from a city into the competition. And the RS used to finish above us. Think that was the rule anyway.

I think the game here is against Burnley, in an evening league game and I think we won 2-1. The picture shows Young's goal, a header from a corner from the left. It was at the time (probably 1966/7) when Ball and Young were on fire playing together. They were labelled 'The Dynamic Duo'. Was the Burnley keeper related to Young?

So did I, aged 15. in my school uniform. Straight from CAGS to Lime Street, and onto a football special.

Me too, picked up outside the school gates by my uncle and my brother and of to the West Midlands we went.
