my dad bernie the bolt was a young man when he came here , he would get back from training and be on his own completly bored , in the end he just went out every night and got smashed and had loads of fights what else could he do , any way the fans have had years of fun with the stories and the rumours of goings on etc , you could say that was worth 50 k lol.

I like him, couldn't fault his on field attitude

Don't some people change. I would have bother recognising these two.
Never had that bother recognising Harvey...Kendall or Ball in later life. Nor Joe Royle.
But I didn't recognise those two in the photo. Glad you named them......

Yep....you are right. Hat trick for Johnson. Think that Alan Ball scored as well. Must check that.
Remember listening to the football on the radio. And the goals kept coming. Great atuff.
And about eight years later I was at Goodison when we scored another eight. Against Wimbledon. B Latchford filled his boots that night. Have the programme somewhere. Can't remember what division Wimbledon were in at that time.......
