Everton 3 Leeds 2 - 1969/70 season - ending Leeds unbeaten run -Joe Royle nets the 2nd in a double header attempt hit the bar first then rose again awkwardly { just in picture] to bury his 2md attempt - I was right behind this in the park end - we were 3-0 up till Leeds got two late goals - outplayed them that day to then go on and beat them to the Championship in 1970 -

In the early 60s there was no wire netting on the top of the pen, just the metal railings at the front. Every time the copper walked past the pen a gang of us would climb over into Gwladys St. behind his back.

It was a terrifying place the boys pen by the way. I’m not having it for one minute that Kenwright went in there every week, they’d have eaten him alive.
I went in the boys pen in the late 1950's and dont remember any of that sort of stuff and never felt unsafe.
