Great squad Joey,as u know. Produced the best flowing football I have ever seen from an Everton team.
Only criticism was they weren't quite ruthless enough.They used to toy with teams instead.

Three very good keepers back in those days. One was top class.......But the other two were good as well........great team photo that. Those guys were what I started supporting. They are my earlisest memories of Everton.....great team back then..

The Latch extra keen to nick that goal off Telfer - it was his second game back after being dropped following a goalless run of about 12 games - he scored in the next seven!

This is the team I started watching ... my fIrst game was August '62. Didn't know squat about the game but dad assured me they were great players!

When - If the day comes I can’t name everyone in that picture then I’ll know my memory has started down a slippery slope!

back at that time I couldn't just name the Everton squad (easy enough) . We all could.
I could name almost every other squad in the old first division. Every team had its characters. It's hard players. It's skilful players. It's match winner's.
A miss spent youth I suppose .
Nowadays I can still name the Everton squad (of course). But I haven't much of a clue who plays for other teams. Never heard of most of them.......

Loved this squad. The only thing that as a youngster it took me a little time to get used to was Keith Newton in for Ray Wilson. Newton to me was good . But no Ray Wilson.
Anyhow.......imo we never had a decent left back through the 1970s.. Maybe not until Bailey and VDH came along.....
