One slip by Gerry Young gave this lad footballing notoriety, ' Shirley' had to share his right and left-wing
positions with with Johnny Morrissey and Alex Scott. Will always be remembered for his Cup Final winner.
Likewise: Demba Ba will always have footballing notoriety because of the Anfield Slipper.

....any player of that era will be notorious for scoring a cup final winner but Temple was a very good footballer. A tremendous striker of a ball, he got an England cap when they weren‘t given out like confetti.

72 goals in 324 league games is an Everton record he can look back on with pride.
