I wonder if you could get this photo with Esso petrol stamps back in the day?

...when you look at recent England games, amazing to think Harvey & Kendall got one cap between them.
That's nothing on another thread a poster could not believe the hype about Alan Ball without ever seeing him play........ did he not watch the world cup final in 1966?
As imo he tried to play at that level for us in every game - a pleasure to see the three of them play - I will always treasure that memory home & away on mud bath pitches too....

...heard Souness talking recently about Alan Ball. He played against him when Ball was coming to the end of his career. Souness said he couldn’t get near him and Souness was very decent.

I've wondered about that. Would they have got more if they all played for the same London team ?
Oh, definitely - Bobby Robson a future English manager evidently we were beating his side Ipswich 3-0 at half time at Portman road - his fans applauded the Everton team off at half time - Bobby raved about then telling Sir Alf to have a look at that midfield trio as it was telepathic, and he had not seen passing & fast movement like it totally unplayable - alas he was ignored definitely a North/South divide - I think it was around 1968ish I read this in the match report of that game - to think a donkey like Alan Mullally played for England then too...... doh
