That 8-0 thrashing had us all thinking a revival was underway. Then Bally was sold just a few weeks later and we only managed 37 goals all season - in 42 games. Big Joe scored 4 in this game and didn't score again until the last game of the season!

Fabulous player Leighton James. I remember a quote about him at the time though - said he thought he was the dogs bollix and if he was made of chocolate he'd eat himself.

I remember that being said about Souness, even before he joined the RS.

Yep,think you are spot on Eggs,reckon that's a Leeds player "plastered" there too!!

It’s the FA Cup 4th round at Elland Rd 1964.
Norman Hunter and someone else. Fella in wheelchair is Leeds player, Freddie Goodwin who suffered triple fracture of right leg in previous round v Cardiff.
We won replay 2-0 at Goodison before losing to Sunderland in fifth round.
