Looks like Charlie Aitken, the Villa RB, in the centre of that photo. A hard, some times dirty, defender. He wasn't afraid to give stick back to the crowd either. I can recall one game at GP when not only was he having a running verbal battle with Blues fans but at one stage he picked up a loose sod of turf and hurled it at someone in the Goodison Rd crowd!Everton 3 Aston Villa 1 in April 1967 at Goodison Park. Alex Young the GV makes it 3-1 Bally & an OG scored the other goals -

Never liked the arcs. There are lots of photos with the arcs in shot, but I've yet to see one of what preceded them -- the metal, scaffolding-like fencing. I think they were only in place for one season.The famous arcs behind each goal were buit in 1964 when we beat spurs with a Derek Temple goal 1-0 - the club were warned as spurs keeper bill Brown had darts thrown at him -

The Father in Law reckoned Norman Greenhalgh was one of the few that always had him in his pocket in the late 40sThere was a reason for that joey laddie. He outsmarted and out dribbled anyone who had the temerity to think they could dispossess him. Only the very few ever made Sir Stans shorts turn brown. And that would only be when they used tactics not within the rules of the game. A legend in clean shorts lol

Portraits of the founding fathers of Everton FC, presented to Everton Chief Executive Robert Elstone by David France. The portraits are (left to right front) John Houlding, George Mahon, John McKenna and Dr James Baxter, with Rev Ben Chambers (back left) and Will Cuff (back right)
He went around auctions to retain medals etc for the collection.......Allegedly;
A fair portion of the now famous collection...training registers, minute books etc...maybe even those pictures...were rescued (by david france in person?) out of skips as somebody at the club, in their wisdom, biffed out shed loads of stuff during renovations / upgrades and improvements for the 66 world cup
