Clements had one excellent season with us. Decent either side of that season.
He continued to be a thorn in our side for the next couple of seasons too until we bought the man who ftired the bullets he made - Pickering.
He was so effective that one game...a home game too, Catterick paid him the 'complement' of putting Denis Stevens to man mark him...very avant garde tactics for the day.
It worked up to a point, we managed to hang on for a draw...2-2 iirc
Which was better than the pasting they gave us the season before

We were still playing 3 at the back system in 62-63...Parker Labone Meagan.
Though by the 66 final we'd gone to a back 4....Wright, Labone, Harris, Wilson.
Even though the newspapers and programs were still using 2,3 - 4,5,6 - 7,8,9,10,11 20yrs later!
