Went to that game with Grandad and Uncle Frank , think it was New Years day 79 ?
The game was obviously with the conditions forgettable 1-1 when it was abandoned , but the snowball fights memorable!

Remember going to a game at West Brom early 70s when there was loads of snow. Went on the special. We went to a small railway stationnear the ground. Police escort only to to be told when we got to the ground that the game had been called off 2 hours earlier. Police took us back the station and tried to pen us in there till the train arrived about 4 hours later. No chance,. Everyone broke out. Massive snow ball fights in the town centre. After that I took refuge to get warm in the Town library. As did a couple of hundred others. That's the only time I've seen the police arrive and kick footy fans out the library!!
