They took the wires out in1960-61, if they had gone on to the hot water pipes by then, it didnt work that well.
We played a league game on 15th Dec then none at home until 23rd Feb.

Media was miffed Spurs didn't win the title ... Everton cheated because they wore boots / used voodoo / bought it / were lucky with injuries. lol

Fixed that for you mate.
Oh and we were...'a bit too rough' as well.
There's an a article in some football mag or other with Vernon having to defend us being too 'hard', not a proper footballing team, etc, etc.

I,m going on the books i have read indeed one game played was away !
We had a lean spell of no games for months.....
It was a horrid cold spell plus snow on snow as a kid I loved it .......aged 8 years old .....
