Was there as an eight year old kid, can recall being impressed with West Brom away kit,I have a recollection we were quite fortunate on the day to get a replay out of it,they had a pretty much unknown centre forward Shaw who in my minds eye anyway, ran us ragged!!strange old game with it being a Sunday, and of course we "Evertoned"the replay didn't we?!!

I was in the park end seats.
Weird game being the Sunday.
Yes beat in the replay

I think this may be our first ever game played on a Sunday.
Due to the oil crisis caused by Arab-Israeli war, miners strike, power cuts etc ,some games were played on Sunday.

Sunday trading laws at the time meant that clubs could not charge for admission, so you bought a team sheet at the turnstile for full admission price and watched match for “free”

Yes mate, I was in the St end that day it was memorable because it was weird, I recalled there being an abnormally large crowd there that day, just googled it, 53,000.
Only 2 players, Hurst and Royle from our Championship winning team I noted also.

Make sure we get the right photos Joey, we don't want any of the "private album" ones on here!

That was the first game played after I'd gone away to sea. Comms nowhere near as good as today and had to wait a good twelve hours before the radio officer got the result for me.

A man called Percival Lee
Got up one night for a pee.
When he got to the loo
It was quarter to two,
And when he got back it was three.

Take your time, Joey, and get better.
