You can make out the Boys’ Pen. When did that get removed?
1977-78 season....I think!!
Cracking article here from 'These Football Times' - https://thesefootballtimes.co/2019/...rutal-boys-pen-at-goodison-park-in-the-1960s/

"During the summer of 1977, new regulations decreed that each terrace required a certain number of exits. Everton, after years of institutional inertia and complacency, were faced with the prospect of losing income as the ground capacity was being restricted to 37,000 before the first game of the season against newly promoted Nottingham Forest.

The solution was simple: they closed the Pen, which meant that a new egress point had been created. It was a swift and sudden end to an institution that had served generations of young Blues. Even worse, it meant that there was no longer a reduced-price option for younger Blues. Nevertheless, nobody really lamented its passing."

...that Boys Pen was a dreadful place to watch the game. Views were awful & from what I remember it was full of scallies who wanted to rob your bobble hat!!

I was fortunate to have a season ticket for front row of upper Gwladys St but I hated my rare excursions to the Boys Pen. The Family Enclosure was a much better place for parents to take their youngsters,

Great article -

Because, the next season they weren't that good, finished 14th iirc.
Many factors, Mexico burn out being just 1, niggley injuries, loss of form, plain old Everton That
We always got hard draws too - The Catt was not up-to-date on the way European teams came to play at Goodison too from 1963 onwards we flopped in Europe your right about the 1970’s team, yet they knocked the favourites out of the European cup - I was there..... then flunked an easy passage to the semi finals - Everton That .....

...he was a terrific player, your Dad is a good judge. Ramsey apparently had him lined up as a key player in the ‘66 World Cup before his ban.
iirc, when the ban kicked in Ramsey rang Harry, nearly in tears and asked who he could get to replace Kay, Harry rscommended Nobby Stiles...or so the story goes

It was much the same Vs Inter in 63, poor form, niggley injuries, even no left back

Mick Meagan was slow on his best day...and he'll be the first to tell you that.
So Harry rushed out and bought Sandy Brown when he weighed up the draw.
Only to find there was a cut off day for Euro signings...and we missed it

Inter went on to dominate for 4 yrs...Celtic ended that in 1967
If we would've played them 3 mths previous when we were on blob, we wouldve seen them off no trouble
