A lot of that Welsh side played in the Brazil v Wales World Cup 1/4 Final, Brazil winning 1-0 and Pele
scoring the only goal. A marvellous performance from Wales, unlike our England teams over the years.

I was at that game behind the Gwladys Street goal, if memory serves me right we sent them into the 2nd division that day. Vearnecombe their goalie got injured in the first half and was replaced by their top
goalscorer Derek Tapscot, no subs in those days.

TBH the caption is incorrect it's been pointed out to me that that photo was v Liverpool .......Roy Vernon was a tremendous forward alongside the GV they complemented each other.....

Whilst this photo appeared in an article in the Echo covering the 8-3 Cardiff game I think the photo is actually a disallowed goal in the Derby Game with Liverpool in Sep 62, Jim Furnell in goal

Is that the goal where Furnell fighened injury as it was a perfect goal ? In a 2-2 draw ?
